Single Clarity Session
A focused conversation around one decision, leadership issue or period of uncertainty. Useful when the situation is specific and time-sensitive.
It is about improving the quality of the thinking that precedes what you do.
When you are leading a company, the most difficult issues are rarely purely operational. They carry financial, relational, strategic and personal consequences at the same time.
A good coaching conversation creates enough distance from the immediate pressure to examine what is actually happening, what you may be assuming, what you may be avoiding and what the situation is asking of you as the leader.
“You do not need certainty about everything. You need enough clarity to make the next responsible decision.”Jeffrey Hall
When executive coaching is useful
Most leaders know when something is consuming more mental energy than it should. That is often the right time to create a better thinking environment.
The coaching process
State what is happening without immediately collapsing into explanation or solution.
Separate observable facts from interpretations, assumptions and inherited beliefs.
Identify what belongs to you, what belongs to others and what cannot be controlled.
Define the decision, conversation or experiment that creates forward motion.
What changes
Over time, the work should improve how you think—not simply give you a place to talk.
You should leave a productive engagement better able to notice patterns, challenge your own assumptions, communicate more clearly and make decisions with less unnecessary internal friction.
“The leader’s job is not to eliminate uncertainty. It is to make responsible decisions within it.”Executive Perspective
Engagement options
The most appropriate structure depends on the scope and frequency of the decisions you are working through.
A focused conversation around one decision, leadership issue or period of uncertainty. Useful when the situation is specific and time-sensitive.
Regular private conversations to work through decisions, patterns, leadership challenges and accountability over time.
A concentrated engagement for periods of overload, transition, delegation breakdown or a need to redefine the leader’s role.
Start with the issue
Bring the situation that is taking too much of your attention. We can determine together whether a coaching conversation would be useful.
